Child Protection

St Edmund's Church follows the Child Protection guidance of the Diocese of Rochester. All staff and volunteers who work with children or vulnerable adults are CRB checked, and are required to undergo regular training in child protection issues.

St Edmund's Church has a designated Child Protection Officer. Lorraine Bathgate is an experienced  teacher and youth worker. Her role is to deal with any child protection issues, ensure that CRB applications are processed, that training opportunities are accessed by staff and volunteers, and to work with the Parochial Church Council and the Diocese of Rochester on child protection issues.
