Prayer 4 Mission.

A prayer group that specifically supports the focus on mission has been established. It meets on the first Sunday of the month to pray together, and encourages team members to pray about specific mission issues as and when they arise. This group has its own on-line group and forum within this website. Membership is open to anyone - if you want to be part of this - simply ask!

chapelPrayer is at the heart of the life of St Edmund's. It is the heartbeat of the church.

The chapel is available for private prayer and reflection whenever the building is open. The church opens each day at 8.00 a.m. and is available through until the evening.

placing a prayer on the prayer treeThe chapel is a place of quiet. Here you can sit and reflect, perhaps light a candle or write a prayer request.

chapel artThere are a number of pictues that we use in the chapel to aid contemplation and prayer. These will change according to the seasons.

These include fabric wall panels and a photograph depicting new life and growth.

The Prodigal pictureOccasionally we shall use a copy of the picture 'The Return of the Prodigal' by Rembrandt. Many have found this picture helpful - stay awhile and discover what the picture may have to say to you.

At other times there will be a simple wooden cross.

Simply take time to enjoy the space. Sit and read a book, read the Bible, or day dream.
