Temple Hill Surgery at The Living Well.

The Living Well is home to Temple Hill Surgery. With 2 GP’s and the support services that communities now expect to find in a modern health centre.

The surgery is run by the West Kent Primary Care Trust.

 

All staff including Doctors are employed by the PCT. The majority of practices are run independently and owned by the partners of the practice. The PCT plan to return Temple Hill surgery to independent status sometime in the near future.  

OUR PRACTICE TEAM  

DR AV KOTHARI MBBS, D.Obst. RCP, MRCOG, Dipl. Cli Derm.

Dr Kothari is a full time GP based at the practice 4 days a week Mon – Thurs. Interests: Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Dermatology & Minor Operations

DR WOLE OLARINMOYE MBBS, MRCGP

 

Dr Olarinmoye is a locum GP he is based at the surgery Monday & Wednesday mornings and all day Friday. Interests: Psychiatry, Cardiology

PHILIPPA LEWRY, RGN, Independent Nurse Prescriber, Certificate in Diabetes Care ( Warwick ), Diploma in Coronary Heart Disease Prevention

 

Philippa is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, and works alongside the Doctors in the practice to provide medical services. She is able to prescribe a range of medication.  A patient may be offered a consultation with Philippa as an alternative to the Doctor.

Occasionally we may have student nurses working at the practice under the supervision of the clinical team

JOY GLAYSHER - PRACTICE MANAGER

 

Joy is responsible for the overall management of the practice. She deals with any queries or complaints about our service and receive any suggestions for improving the services offered.

ROS WOODYARD - SECRETARY

 

Ros is responsible for co-coordinating all medical correspondence.      

MINA GOKANI – RECEPTION COORDINATOR & HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT

 

Mina is responsible for supervising the reception team, she also assists also working under supervision of the clinical team, taking blood, checks blood pressure and weight. She also undertakes new patient health checks under the is our reception coordinator and – Mina also is assisted by:

 

BEVERLY BARR & PAM HILLS - RECEPTIONIST

Beverly & Pam answer the telephone, deal with enquiries, prepare repeat prescriptions and other clerical duties

 

ATTACHED STAFF

 

COMMUNITY MIDWIFE –

 

An Anti Natal clinic is held at the surgery on Wednesday mornings.

DISTRICT NURSING TEAM - The team of community nurses care for people at home, meeting all aspects of nursing care. The team based at St Edmunds Church Living Well covers several practices in Dartford including Temple Hill surgery.

 

OUR PRACTICE AREA

 

We accept patients who reside in Temple Hill, The Bridge and surrounding area. The receptionist will check if your address falls within our practice boundary.

APPOINTMENTS

 

To book an appointment call 01322 226090

A small number of appointments can be made up to 1 week in advance (early morning and late afternoon appointments) to enable patients to have an appointment before or after work.

All other appointments can be pre booked 12 hours in advance

E.g. you can book an appointment for Monday morning on the previous Friday afternoon or an appointment for Monday afternoon on Monday morning.

Appointments for the Phlebotomist, Midwife and Baby clinic can be made up to 5 weeks in advance

One appointment is 10minutes. If you need longer, or it is for more than one person tell the receptionist at the time of booking.

 

Please tell us if you want someone to accompany you during an examination or need to discuss any matters in a private room.

Please cancel your appointment if you no longer need it, each month an average of 85 patients do not turn up for their appointment resulting in other patients having to wait longer for appointments.

 

The practice has a ‘did not attend ‘policy and patients who repeatedly fail to attend appointments may be asked to find another Doctor.

HOME VISITS

 

The Doctor can see four patients in the practice in the time it takes to do a single home visit. For this reason we ask our patients to come to the surgery whenever it is possible.

However if you are too ill to be brought to the surgery, please telephone before 10.00am to request a visit, The GP on duty will consider the request and may telephone you before they decide to visit.

 

There is a full Contraception Service available Wednesday's 5-7 p.m. This is a drop in session - no appointment necessary. Free condoms. Sexual Health. Safe Sex Advice. Relationships. Emergency Contraception. Free confidential advice and information from friendly health workers.
